Between cushions and low chairs
Even with the increasing uniformisation of lifestyles around the world, the 「za」 life is still firmly rooted in the Japanese life-style. A zabuton (Japanese cushion) is not enough, but it is excessive to put a low chair. The idea was to create furniture for such a space.
The simple elliptical design has the minimum functionality for sitting. The seat is rounded to fit the hips, and the base is also slightly rounded to create a comfortable sitting position that fits like a robe.
